Design size 16.75" wide X 18" high on 20 hole paper. Worked with wool thread.

On Alice's sampler she stitched her location as Alliance, Ohio. She was born on 28 Nov 1849. She stitched her large paper sampler when she was about 16 years of age in 1866. Unfortunately the sampler is now very faded on the front.

Here is her verse:
Reason greatest of all blessings, given to all mankind
Life would not be worth possessing if not reason rule the mind.

When this you see remember me while here on glowing paper stands
